MENTOR — American Idol winner Phillip Phillips is coming to Northeast Ohio for a free summer concert.
Phillips will perform at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater on Tuesday, June 30, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the popular Mentor Rocks summer concert series. Admission and parking are free, making it one of the biggest free concerts of the summer in Lake County.
The performance is expected to draw thousands of fans from across Northeast Ohio to the amphitheater, which has become one of the region’s most popular outdoor concert venues. More than 132,000 people attended Mentor Rocks events in 2025, according to city officials.
From American Idol to Multi-Platinum Success
Phillips rose to national fame after winning Season 11 of American Idol in 2012.
His coronation song, “Home,” became the most successful winner’s song in the show’s history and remains one of the most recognizable tracks associated with the competition. Since then, Phillips has released four studio albums and accumulated billions of streams worldwide.
Fans can expect to hear favorites including “Home,” “Gone, Gone, Gone,” and other songs from his catalog during the Mentor performance.
Mentor Rocks Continues to Grow
Now celebrating its tenth season, Mentor Rocks has become one of Northeast Ohio’s premier summer concert series.
The 2026 lineup features a mix of national recording artists and tribute acts. In addition to Phillips, this year’s schedule includes Night Ranger and a yet-to-be-announced country recording artist. Tribute performances honoring artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Ozzy Osbourne, Journey, Rush, and the Eagles are also scheduled throughout the summer.
The concert series takes place at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater, located at 8600 Munson Road. The venue features lawn seating, and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
What Concertgoers Should Know
Food and beverage vendors begin serving guests before each show, creating a festival-like atmosphere for families and music fans.
Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted if hand-carried, but coolers, outside alcohol, glass containers, food deliveries, and pets are not allowed inside the amphitheater grounds. Beer, wine, and seltzers will also be available for adults 21 and older.
Because Phillips is one of only a handful of national recording artists appearing during the 2026 season, organizers expect a larger-than-normal crowd. Early arrival is recommended.
A Summer Highlight for Northeast Ohio
Free concerts featuring nationally known artists are becoming increasingly rare, making Phillips’ appearance one of the most anticipated events on this year’s Mentor Rocks calendar.
For fans of American Idol, contemporary pop-rock, or simply a great summer night of live music, June 30 promises to be one of the season’s biggest entertainment events in Lake County.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater, and like all Mentor Rocks events, admission and parking are completely free.
