A 17-year-old Akron boy is facing multiple charges after gunfire erupted near a McDonald’s in Barberton.
Barberton police said the shooting happened Monday afternoon near the restaurant on West Tuscarawas Avenue and Third Street Northwest.
Investigators said the incident stemmed from an ongoing feud involving teenagers who attend the Barberton Towpath Trail High School campus.
Police Say Shooting Followed Ongoing Feud
Police said no one was struck by gunfire. Two people were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries connected to the incident.
The teenage suspect ran from the scene after the shots were fired, according to police.
Officers located and arrested him about one block away on Tuscarawas Avenue within approximately six minutes.

Investigators also recovered the gun they say was used in the shooting. Police reported that the firearm had been stolen.
The 17-year-old was taken to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Facility.
He faces charges including felonious assault, carrying a concealed weapon, having a weapon under disability and receiving stolen property. The charges are allegations, and the teenager has not been convicted.
