Cleveland police say a search warrant on the city’s West Side resulted in the seizure of suspected fentanyl and cocaine, five firearms and more than $43,000 in cash.
Officers with the Cleveland Division of Police Second District Vice Unit executed the warrant August 17 in the 3100 block of West 97th Street.
Police reported seizing approximately 139 grams of suspected fentanyl during the operation.
Second District Vice Unit Executes Search Warrant
Investigators also recovered roughly 448 grams of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine, according to information released about the search.
Five firearms were seized along with more than $43,000 in cash.
The quantities reported by police make the case a significant narcotics investigation for the district, which covers portions of Cleveland’s West Side.
Evidence collected during drug investigations can require laboratory analysis before prosecutors make final charging decisions. Firearms may also undergo examination to determine their history and whether they are connected to other investigations.
Police Await Additional Testing
Police said additional charges could follow laboratory and firearm testing. Authorities have not indicated that the seizure represents the end of the broader investigation.
All criminal allegations connected with the case remain subject to the court process, and any person charged is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
