Cuyahoga Falls is moving ahead with an $8.4 million project that will replace Fire Station 4 and add a regional firefighter training facility.
The new station is being built at 849 Bath Road near the existing Station 4. Cuyahoga Falls City Council approved borrowing $8.4 million in bonds this summer to help finance construction.
The fire station is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026. The training portion of the project is expected to be completed by next summer.
New Station 4 Nears Completion
The new station will include four equipment bays, a watch office and living amenities for six firefighters.
The training center will feature a 40-foot burn tower where firefighters can practice search-and-rescue operations, fire suppression and ventilation techniques in a controlled setting.
The facility will not be limited to Cuyahoga Falls firefighters. City officials say other departments will be able to use the training center.
That includes the Akron Fire Department, which provides and receives mutual aid with neighboring communities when emergency conditions require additional resources.
Training Center Will Serve Area Departments
Station 4 serves the Steels Corners area as well as the portion of Cuyahoga Falls extending into Cuyahoga Valley National Park near Blossom Music Center. The district covers nearly 14 square miles.
According to the department’s 2025 annual report, Station 4 handled 1,215 incidents while the entire Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department responded to 12,806 calls. Once the new station opens, the nearby existing Station 4 is expected to be demolished.
