Giant Eagle is holding hiring events this week to fill approximately 450 open positions across Cleveland, Akron and Canton-area stores. The company is seeking both full-time and part-time employees. Open positions include bakers, cake decorators, journeyman meat cutters, department leaders, deli and prepared foods clerks, cashiers and guest-service team members. Cleveland-area hiring events were scheduled Wednesday, September 2. Akron and Canton-area events are taking place Thursday, September 3, from 11 a.m.
Hundreds of Full-Time and Part-Time Openings
to 4 p.m. Participating Akron-area locations include Stow-Kent Giant Eagle, Wadsworth Giant Eagle and Montrose Giant Eagle in Fairlawn. Canton-area locations include stores in Massillon, Dover and Bolivar. Advance registration is not required. Applicants can walk into participating locations during the event hours. Giant Eagle says recruiters will be available to discuss openings and employment opportunities.
Hiring Events Continue in Akron and Canton Areas
The company advertises benefits that can include flexible scheduling, paid training, advancement opportunities and paid time off, depending on position and eligibility. The hiring push comes as retailers prepare staffing levels for the fall and holiday season. Giant Eagle operates supermarkets and Market District stores throughout Northeast Ohio. The company also employs workers in pharmacies, distribution operations and other departments. The Cleveland-area hiring events included locations in Chesterland, Solon, Streetsboro, Maple Heights, Vermilion, North Madison and Middlefield. Thursday’s events shift the focus to stores serving the Akron and Canton markets.
